Amor Township Minutes For

September 12, 2018

Meeting was called to order by Chairman Eric Roberts. In attendance were Supervisor Mike Holstrom, Supervisor Kerry Baumgartner, Clerk Brenda Hildebrand, Treasurer Lori Holmgren, Dave Holmgren, Brian Roberts, and Catherine Barner.

Pledge allegiance was recited.

Minutes were read. Motion to approve minutes made by Holstrom, seconded by Baumgartner and carried.

Treasurer’s report was given with a checkbook ending balance of $478,416.45.  Motion to approve made by Holstrom, seconded by Baumgartner and carried.

Supervisor Holstrom made a motion to approve claims and checks #4295-4325; 4 automatic withdrawals and payroll; it was seconded by Baumgartner and carried.

Catherine Barner gave the board an update on the pollinator garden on Oak Ridge Beach road by her property. It was too dry for the seeds to sprout and take hold so they plan on buying more seed and trying it again in the spring. She felt that they could not go through with using the grant money, because the garden didn’t grow. She also brought up the fee for reserving the shelter at Amor Park. She and many of her neighbors felt that there should not be a fee to use the shelter. That residents should not have to pay the fee because they already pay for it on their taxes. The board will look into it and address the issue at the annual meeting in March.

Dave Holmgren had the plow truck D.O.T. It did not pass due to the box and issues it has. He will have it D.O.T. with the new box. He also would like the frame painted before the new box goes on to stop the rust issues.

It was discussed again about having the roads graded before the chloride is put on. There are a lot of washboards now that can’t be fixed because of the chloride. Dave placed 4 loads of gravel on Winslow Dr. The property owners will blade and plow it from now on. If the snow gets too bad they will call Dave.

Holstrom gave the fire report. The joint powers agreement was signed and was effective September 1, 2018.

Window curtains were discussed. Roberts made a motion to have the clerk purchase new wood blinds to replace the curtains. It was seconded by Baumgartner and carried. Holstrom will put them up before November election.

An air compressor was discussed for the shop. Holstrom made a motion to buy 2-stage compressor with a limit of $2500.00 for the purchase. It was seconded by Baumgartner and carried.

With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 7:58pm.

Respectfully submitted by,

Brenda Hildebrand
