Amor Township Minutes For
October 14, 2020
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Kerry Baumgartner. Others in attendance were Supervisor Mike Holstrom via facetime due to Covid, Supervisor Eric Roberts via facetime due to Covid, Clerk Brenda Hildebrand, Treasurer Lori Holmgren, and Dave Breuer. Roberts was unable to keep the internet connection.
Pledge allegiance was recited.
Minutes were read and a motion was made by Holstrom to accept, seconded by Baumgartner and carried.
Treasurer’s report was given with a checkbook ending balance of $842,367.30. Holstrom made a motion to accept, seconded by Baumgartner and carried.
Baumgartner made a motion to approve and pay claims #4778-4791, and 3 automatic withdrawals. Treasurer had to void check 4787 due to printer error. It was seconded by Holstrom and carried.
Dave Breuer asked about the issue of the trail in the woods from West Point Trail and Eldorado Beach Road. Portion of the trail is on the property of the lot owner. Discussion about moving the trail and have it on the township right of way. No decision was made. Board will talk with the property owner and get his opinion on what he would like done.
Holstrom made a motion to contract 70 yds of salt and sand from the county for the winter roads. Baumgartner seconded it and carried.
Culvert project on Amor Twp Dr. was completed. They will add the beaver grates if the weather holds.
Holstrom made a motion to donate the money from the PPE Cares Act to the Battle Lake fire Association for equipment. The check was for 11, 250.00. Baumgartner seconded and carried.
Holstrom got a call from Dead Lake Township with concerns for mowing and brushing on Freemen Beach Rd. He will contact Ben Hovde to look at it and get it done.
Oak Ridge Beach road will need to be mowed again before the winter.
Clerk and Treasurer will order pens, masks and shields for the election. Pens will be given to each voter and masks and shields for the judges if they need.
Motion made by Holstrom to approve the election judge list from the clerk. She will need to check training certification before election day. The list is as follows: Jim Olson, Kerry Baumgartner, Cindy Holstrom, Larry Stewart, Jane Baumgartner, Tom Kuder, Pasibeth Seeman, Ann Gibbs, Sarah Govig, Kristi Kuder, Aaron Simon, Lori Holmgren, Yvonne Erickson, and Brenda Hildebrand Head Judge. It was seconded by Baumgartner and carried.
Clerk had to file a claim with PERA for Dave Holmgren from 2017-2019. We will need to pay into PERA for that time. He is considered a full-time employee not seasonal. They will be sending a bill.
Clerk asked to buy an iPad for the township to help with facetime or zoom meetings. Holstrom made a motion to have the clerk purchase it, seconded by Baumgartner and carried.
