Amor Township Minutes For
November 11, 2021
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Eric Roberts. Others in attendance were Supervisor Mike Holstrom, Supervisor Kerry Baumgartner, Clerk Brenda Hildebrand, Treasurer Lori Holmgren, Jim Olson, and Bill Metzger.
Pledge allegiance was recited.
Minutes were read and a motion was made Roberts, seconded by Holstrom and carried.
Treasurer’s report was given with a checkbook ending balance of $678,998.74. Holstrom made a motion to accept, seconded by Baumgartner and carried.
Baumgartner made a motion to approve and pay claims #5024-5036 with payroll, and 3 automatic withdrawals. It was seconded by Holstrom and carried.
Bill Metzger asked the board about vacating the old road easements on his lot and some of his neighbors. He will need to petition the board to start the paperwork.
Roberts had Summit Companies check and replace the fire extinguishers in the buildings and vehicles of the township. Clerk will set up an account with the company, it was done through Amor Pork this time. Twp will reimburse Amor Pork for the township’s share of the bill.
Baumgartner made a motion to contract 70 yds of salt and sand through the county. Holstrom seconded and carried.
Clerk and others received calls about the junk at Sheldon’s Docks and Lifts. The township does not have any restrictions or ordinances about it, there is not much the board can do.
Holstrom gave the Fire Report. New compressor was purchased for filling the new backpack tanks. There is a company coming to service the generator and will do it yearly.
Road Report – culvert was replaced on 365th Ave. Tractor is fixed so it can be used until the part comes to be replace. Lever is in but needs to be picked up.
Clerk reminded the board about the special meeting on Nov. 20, 2021 at 10:00am. At the petition site.
Roberts brought up the wages for the operators. He feels that we need to pay more to be more enticing to have and keep good operators for our equipment. More discussion at next month’s meeting.
