Amor Township Minutes For
March 10, 2021
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Kerry Baumgartner. Others in attendance were Supervisor Eric Roberts, Supervisor Mike Holstrom, Clerk Brenda Hildebrand, Treasurer Lori Holmgren, and John Christensen.
Pledge allegiance was recited.
Minutes were read and a motion was made by Roberts to accept, seconded by Holstrom and carried.
Treasurer’s report was given with a checkbook ending balance of $957,315.83. Holstrom made a motion to accept seconded by Roberts and carried.
Holstrom made a motion to approve and pay claims #4875-4891 and 2 automatic withdrawals, and payroll. Voided check #4859 due to overpayment from previous month. It was seconded by Roberts and carried.
John Christensen form Christenson Construction delivered the bills and explained all the work that was done in 2020.Payment will be made next month. He will also look over and give quotes on the trail project on West Point Trail and on Lien road. It needs to be built up and have gravel placed in some bad spots.
Oath of Office was recited by Baumgartner and Holmgren.
Chairman Baumgartner turned the meeting over to Supervisor Roberts, who will be Chairman for the next year.
The following donations were discussed;
Amor-Zion Cemetery- $3,500.00
Oakwood Cemetery- $3,500.00
EOT County History Museum-$ 1000.00
I.T.O.W. Museum- $ 1000.00
Otter Tail County Historical Society-$2000.00
Battle Lake Summer Rec.- $500.00
Perham Library- $ 500.00
B.L. Backpack Program- $250.00
Perham Backpack Program- $250.00
Discussion about the toll on the museums from the pandemic, Holstrom made a motion to increase money to all of the museums to help with expenses but all other donations stay the same as last year. It seconded by Roberts and carried.
Wages and fees are as follows:
Clerk- $350.00/month, $60.00/ Mtg, and 15.00/hr anything over 4 hrs.
Treasurer- $300.00/month, 60.00/mtg, $15.00/hr anything over 4 hrs.
Election Judges- $14.00/hr.
Snowplow / Mower / Grader $25.00/hr.
Mileage (government rate).
Township snowplowing for residents $20.00/ time or $60.00/ hr., Non-resident $60.00/ time or $150.00/hr.
Township Grading for residents $40.00/time or $60.00/hr. Non resident $60/time or $200.00/hr.
Town hall rental is at boards discretion, Twp. residents $15.00+cleanup for meeting room, Non-residents $35.00+cleanup. Whole building- residents $50.00+cleanup, nonresidents $175.00+cleanup.
Holstrom made a motion that all the township wages will remain the same as the previous year. It was seconded by Baumgartner and carried.
Amor Park Maintenance- $650.00/month for 6 months. A $40.00 reservation fee for reserving the shelter at the park. Fees will be used for park improvements. Budget is $8,000.00/yr. for the park, monies are carried over from year to year. Roberts made a motion to increase the park maintenance by $100 a month for a total of $4500.00 for 6 months. Fee will stay the same. After some discussion, Baumgartner seconded and it carried.
Dust Control letter will be sent out to all of the residents that have done it in the past. Kerry will contact and get a price.
Holstrom will get gravel bids for next month’s meeting.
Walker Lake Road issue was discussed. Rick Pulford had the abstract and it was recorded as being vacated so it is not an issue for the township.
Back storage room is done. Craig Seeman will wire for a furnace. Amor Pork will get a furnace to be installed. The furnace will be gas. They are able to get a better one and more efficient. Motion made by Holstrom to do this and seconded by Baumgartner. Eric abstained from voting.
Board of Canvass was done. Results are as follows;

Holstrom made a motion to accept, seconded by Roberts and carried.
With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 7:57pm.
