June 8, 2022

Meeting called to order by Chairman Mike Holstrom. Others in attendance were Supervisor Kerry Baumgartner, Supervisor Rick Pulford, Clerk Brenda Hildebrand, Treasurer Lori Holmgren, Jim Olson, Kevin Klosterman, and Dave Holmgren.

Pledge allegiance was recited.

Minutes were read and a motion was made by Baumgartner to accept, seconded by Pulford and carried.

Treasurer’s report was given with a checkbook ending balance of $710,829.88. Pulford motioned to accept, seconded by Baumgartner and carried.

Baumgartner made a motion to approve and pay claims and payroll #5220-5242 w/ payroll, and 7 automatic withdrawals. It was seconded by Pulford and carried.

Kevin Klosterman asked the board about vacating a portion of Augustana Trail. Holstrom made a motion to proceed with the vacation application, seconded by Baumgartner and carried. Clerk will contact the Twp Attorney for the legal applications and forms to complete this.

Baumgartner brought up a concern about having an ordinance for Amor Park. Eagle Lake Township has one for their park. Baumgartner will check further into it.

Discussion on the roads and gravel placement. Earl Strande notified the twp. that there will be a surcharge added to the bill due to fuel costs rising. Dave Holmgren will be placing right of way signs on some of the roadways. The farmers are planting in the right of way in several places. Clerk will send out a letter to all those effected. More discussion on this issue at next months meeting after the board has looked at the problem areas. A Packer for the grader was discussed. There is a quote from RDO Equipment for $34,769.00 It may need an attachment to connect it. Holstrom will check into it more.

Fire Report- No new changes

ARPA funds are still being work on by the twp. attorney.

New folding chairs for the hall were discussed. Clerk had some quotes. More information is needed for next month.

Pulford requested that the flagpole be replaced with something stronger and better functioning. After some discussion, Baumgartner made a motion to replace it with a 20-foot pole with an internal cable to raise the flag and a solar light kit on top. It was seconded by Holstrom and carried.

Pulford is the new weed inspector for the township.

All of the officers will need to take Equalization training this year. It is being offered online.

Hildebrand gave the park report. There are several reservations for the shelter. Swimming lessons will be held the last week in June and the second week in July. They are given through the Red Cross.

Holstrom will check with Wahpeton Fabricating about welding needed on the V-plow for the grader.

With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 8:47pm.
