July 11, 2018

Meeting was called to order by Chairman Eric Roberts. In attendance were Supervisor Mike Holstrom, Supervisor Kerry Baumgartner, Clerk Brenda Hildebrand, and Treasurer Lori Holmgren.

Pledge allegiance was recited.

Minutes were read. Motion to approve minutes made by Holstrom, seconded by Baumgartner and carried.

Treasurer’s report was given with a checkbook ending balance of $509,979.52.  Motion to approve made by Holstrom, seconded by Baumgartner and carried.

Supervisor Holstrom made a motion to approve claims and checks #4259-4271; 2 automatic withdrawal and payroll; it was seconded by Baumgartner and carried.

Supervisor Baumgartner asked the board about the gravel that was put on top the chloride treatment by mistake on Township Drive by his house. It was a new driver and he placed the gravel in the wrong spot. Board will wait to see what it looks like and decide next month. It seems to be coming through the new gravel.

The short course workshops were discussed. Roberts went to the road course and found some new information on the gravel specs. Gravel should have 8-12% fines count. We will have to adopt the new specs for next year. Chloride is recommended on high traffic roads. It can help with the maintenance of the road too. There new thoughts on what to do with gravel roads to make them better. More information will be available at coming workshops.

Supervisor Holstrom spoke with Ron Spangler from Country Financial Insurance about people movers and what we need for insurance. He will have more info by next month’s meeting.

Fire report- The joint powers agreement has been signed. They are still working on the Workmen’s Comp issues.

Chairman Roberts made a motion to contract 1300 gallons of LP from Lakes Area Cooperative at $1.27/gallon. It was seconded by Baumgartner and carried.

The Otter Tail County weed inspector contacted Roberts about wild parsnips growing by Twin Lake access on 350th Ave. Roberts sprayed them.

Clerk asked the board to approve the list of election judges for the primary. Training will be at the end of the month. These will be the judges after training is completed, Head Judges are  Clerk Brenda Hildebrand and Jim Olson. Other judges are Larry Stewart, Galen Youngsma, Catherine Barner, Mary Lou Zimmerman, Pasibeth Seeman, with Mary Hein and Ann Gibbs as alternate judges. Motion to accept made by Holstrom seconded by Baumgartner and carried.

Chairman Roberts checked on the beaver problems on 340th Ave. They are plugging the culvert. He has removed the debris and will keep checking in the future.

Clerk will check on the bill from Brian’s Repair. The amount paid was for the estimate and not the actual bill.

Park Celebration will be next month. The park has been very busy so far.

With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 7:46pm.
