Amor Township Minutes
For January 10, 2018
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Val Dietz. In attendance were Supervisor Eric Roberts, Supervisor Mike Holstrom, Clerk Brenda Hildebrand, Treasurer Lori Holmgren, Jeff Stabnow, and Kerry Baumgartner.
Pledge allegiance was recited.
Chairman Dietz called the meeting to order.
Minutes were read. Motion to approve Roberts and seconded by Holstrom.
Treasurer’s report was given with a checkbook ending balance of $294,782.04. Motion to approve made by Roberts, seconded by Holstrom and carried.
Motion to approve claims #4154 – #4166 and 2 automatic withdrawals made by Holstrom, seconded by Roberts and carried.
Chairman Dietz gave a report on the Augustana cart way issue and petition. The attorney for Minnesota Association of Townships recommended that the board decline the petition. He recommends that the petitioners do an easement to each property. The MAT attorney will send a letter to each petitioner explaining the recommendation. Clerk will send addresses if needed.
Jeff Stabnow came as a follow up on all the road projects. He will call Lot Pros, LLC about crack sealing that was missed on Eldorado Beach Road from the park to the dead end. He will get it on the list for 2018 to be finished.
Holstrom gave the Fire Report. The grass rig is still being outfitted. They are still working on the joint powers agreement. The City of Battle Lake is not in agreement with the amount they would have to pay in the new powers agreement. There will be a meeting in March that all township officers need to be at to discuss and sign the new powers agreement.
Motion was made by Dietz to have the Board of Review on Friday April 6, 2018 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the town hall. It was seconded by Roberts and carried.
Hildebrand gave an update on the 100-year celebration at the park. Music and liquor has been approved. The Underwood Lions have been approved to sell pork chops and brats. Holstrom will check with Fergus Power Pump about cost of port-a-potties. Clerk will check with Steve sanitation about garbage pickup.
The date for Clean-Up Days was discussed. The board chose to set it on the second Saturday of June each year. The board felt it will be easier for people to remember and have a better turn out. Motion made by Dietz to set it as such, seconded by Roberts and carried. Clerk will check with Steve’s Sanitation if this is possible. This year Clean-Up Days will be on June 9 from 9 am to 1 pm. pending that Steve’s Sanitation is available.
With no further business to discuss, meeting was adjourned a 7:55 pm.
